Man. I got thinking today that there aren’t really any bands putting out good rock records anymore. Wasting Light from Foo Fighters is an awesome rock album and if you haven’t given it the time for a straight-through listen you should. Best rock record since Pearl Jam’s Backspacer. I miss when Weezer and Archers of Loaf and Refused and Red Hot Chili Peppers (who are now intolerable) were all on their game. I guess the Foo will have to continue to carry the torch for now

Tools & Materials

• Thumbtack or pin
• Small white pumpkin (For a big bite, choose a small pumpkin so the plastic vampire teeth seem huge)
• Miniature saw
• Plastic vampire teeth
• Small red map tacks

1. Print mouth template. Lay template on pumpkin, and poke thumbtack through, all along outline, to transfer design. Cut out with saw; remove excess flesh.
2. Wedge teeth into hole.
3. For eyes, pin map tacks onto pumpkin.

I never figured out what to do with this one. On the plus side, the riff at the end turned into the intro riff to “Push it way up!”.

In Passing | Look Alive

I dont know much about this band except theyre from florida, put out this record, moved to pennsylvania, had a member shuffle, moved back to florida, and now sound and look like a mix of all things radio rock. 

But this album doesnt; its a perfect mix of jimmy eat world, get up kids, and the weakerthans - basically, everything that everyone is too scared to do these days for fear its too wussy or, to use a term thats now derogatory, emo.

Huge bummer this lineup didnt get to put out a follow up.

Im pretty sure Refuse to Fail and Toomorrow is Forever played.

The large building is where I work. Thats a 650,000 square foot facility completely surrounded and flooded. Guess Im not going in to work tomorrow either.
